One glossy pill at a time.
Exactly one saturated, glossy control per view: the page you're on. Category headers are quiet. When everything shines, nothing does.
MemCRM is a whole business app, contacts, deals, quotes, invoices, jobs, boards, calendar, and team chat, sharing one set of customers. I designed the brand, the product, and the assistant. The brief I set: visibly 2008 to 2013 Frutiger Aero, and still fast to operate.

Business software is blue, flat, and forgettable. I wanted MemCRM to be the CRM you'd recognize from across a room. The canvas is a real photograph of leaves shot from under a tree, the controls are glossy Aero buttons with a highlight across the top and a glow from below, and the type is Segoe UI, the Vista-era face that defined the look.
Then the hard part: making it calm enough to use all day. Every rule below exists to keep the gloss from becoming noise.

White on bright lime measured 1.8:1. Forest-green ink on the same lime measures 6.9:1. The brand color stayed; the text color changed.
The app menu is a dial in the corner. It rests only on a slot, coasts with mass, and clicks once per notch, never on a timer, so a fast spin chatters and a nudge gives one click.
"The only thing I 100% love is the Baggy wheel." So it became the reference for all the chrome.
A liquid-glass effect and an orb-shaped corner were both tried and both taken out. The orb went the same day. Knowing what to cut is half of direction.
Labels and titles are Segoe UI. Money and counts are JetBrains Mono, bold, in ink. Color appears on a number only when it means something, like overdue.
Landing page prices come from the same plan table billing uses, and I pulled early copy that promised things billing didn't do. Marketing can't drift from the product.
Page heads, panels, board lanes. Frosted glass with blur. The only tier allowed to blur.
A deal, a job, a post inside a panel. Solid white, no blur, lifts 2px on hover.
Nested facts and activity rows. A hairline, no shadow.PaidSentOverdueLead
Baggy is a plastic grocery bag with a face. He lives in the dial, answers questions about your workspace, and has a real physics body: you can drag him out and throw him, and he'll get dizzy. He speaks in a voice I picked, and when voice is on, the text waits for him, because people read faster than they listen.
He has swappable faces, and I gave every face its own knockout, because a shared "X_X" was the same joke six times. He's in the corner of this page. Go ahead.
